In April of 2019, Motive International founder and CEO Morgan Keay was a featured panelist during the Conference on World Affairs, at Colorado University Boulder.
On a panel entitled “Global Hegemony Competition: US vs EU vs Russia vs China” Ms. Keay posits that the United States should regard shifting global power structures as an opportunity, not a threat. The panel, comprised of Ms. Keay, former U.S. Ambassador Ross Wilson, Executive Director of the Qatar Foundation International Maggie Mitchell Salem, Plowshares Fund president Joe Cirincione, and Sinologist Dr. Peter Rupert Lighte, touched on indications and potential consequences of the worldwide movement away from mono-polar super powers.
In answer to question of what alliance structure would be “most appropriate for the US interests in the 21st Century?” Ms. Keay asserts that the U.S. must move towards “cross-sectorism”. In order to constructively compete with the rising influence of China and the European Union, and prevent armed conflicts, the U.S. must develop systems for stronger integration of diplomatic, commercial, humanitarian and military efforts.
