This engagement aims to prevent malign actors from exploiting biotech and biochemical firms and research institutions, while strengthening the competitiveness of these critical sectors. On behalf of the U.S. Department of State, Office of Cooperative Threat Reduction, Motive International is implementing this project with extensive involvement of cross-sector South African stakeholders who are uniquely positioned to define strategies that ensure security and fuel innovation.
The Exercise & Workshop will convene South African policy and regulatory officials, businesses, academics, and international experts for immersive learning, networking, and problem-solving. Expect scenario-based exercises that simulate biotechnology/biology supply chain risks, expert exchanges, and the opportunity to contribute to cross-sector action plans.
