Jared Cochrane
Machine Learning Development Intern

Jared attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 2020 with a degree in physics. After graduating and commissioning as an Army officer, Jared began graduate studies for a master’s degree in artificial intelligence (AI) and public policy at MIT as part of a scholarship program funded by the Department of Defense. Jared’s thesis research focused on developing computational simulations for an optical neutral network. After graduating in 2022, Jared entered the operational army as an intelligence officer. He served as the primary intelligence advisor to a squadron commander in the 3rd U.S. Cavalry Regiment (3CR) located at Fort Hood, Texas. After being promoted to Captain, Jared is now a data scientist for the Army and is studying for a master’s degree in computational data science at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science (SCS). His current research focuses on cross-lingual natural language processing.
